UBS and Bloomberg launch global commodity index family

UBS AG and Bloomberg have launched the UBS Bloomberg Constant Maturity Commodity Index (CMCI) family – a highly innovative concept in commodity index investment.

The global index family will not only cover a broad range of commodities, but will also introduce a time dimension by providing access to a range of different investment maturities for each of these commodities. This is combined with a revolutionary calculation methodology. The index family will be published in US dollars and Euros.

For the second consecutive year, Acquisitions Monthly has named UBS the Corporate Broker of the year. The award comes after a very strong year during which the Corporate Broking team were involved in most of the landmark deals of 2006 and reflects UBS's powerful position in the market.

UBS receives distinction for UBS VFO-sponsorship

UBS has been distinguished by the German professional association FASPO for sponsoring and advertising for its innovative approach to sponsoring, receiving the International Sponsoring Award in the culture-sponsorship category.

The German professional association FASPO for sponsorship & special advertising is well-known in the sponsorship area. For the thirteenth time, the organization has awarded the year's best sport, culture and public sponsoring projects with the International Sponsoring Award. This year, UBS received the award in the category culture sponsorship.

UBS Fixed Income excels in EuroWeek Review of the Year 2006 awards

In yet another impressive performance, UBS achieved a string of first positions in EuroWeek's Review of the Year 2006.

The awards focus on performance in the European fixed income markets, reflecting the views of borrowers and investment banking peers.

In the section voted by borrowers, UBS was named:
Joint No. 1 in Most Impressive Bank category;
No. 1 in Best Provider of Support in the Secondary Market;
No. 1 in Most Competitive and Aggressive on Pricing;
No. 1 in Best Bank at Understanding a Borrower's Needs;
Joint No. 1 in Best Provider of Swaps;
Joint No. 2 in Most Impressive Bank in Euros;
No. 3 in Strongest Bank in the Primary Bond Market; and
No. 3 in Best Provider of Impartial Advice.

In the 'Top Banks as Voted by Their Peers' category, UBS was named:
No. 2 in Best Lead Manager of Euro Sub FIG Bonds;
No. 2 in Best Lead Manager of Euro Hybrid Corporate Bonds;
No. 2 in Best Lead Manager of Swiss Franc Bonds; and
No. 3 in Best Lead Manager of Yen Bonds.

UBS CreditDelta named 'Best In-House System of the Year' in Risk Awards 2007

In yet another accolade for the multiple-award winning UBS CreditDelta platform, the application has been named Best In-House System of the Year in the 2007 Risk Awards.

The prestigious award, judged in consultation with clients, is further validation of the system, which was launched in 2000. UBS CreditDelta covers the full array of fixed income products and its primary objective is to help asset managers improve portfolio performance and realize their complex investment objectives across the cash and derivative worlds.

In its awards report, Risk described UBS CreditDelta as "one of the most innovative and successful tools in the industry".

Euromoney survey: UBS again the world's best private bank

For the fourth consecutive year, Euromoney has named UBS "Best Global Private Bank" in its annual survey of the global private banking industry.

UBS has been named as the world's best private bank in Euromoney's benchmark annual survey of the wealth management industry. The firm maintains its dominance of the market, winning the survey for the fourth consecutive year.

UBS granted approval to offer banking services in Mexico

UBS has received approval from the Ministry of Finance to offer banking services in Mexico. The firm plans to begin operations in the first quarter of 2007.

Initially, UBS will offer cash, foreign exchange and debt products to institutional investors in Mexico. Additional products and services may be offered in the future, both to institutional as well as individual clients.

IFR names UBS Best Equity House in Asia-Pacific

For the second consecutive year, the International Financing Review (IFR) has named UBS the Best Equity House in Asia-Pacific.

The award, one of the most prestigious in the industry, comes amidst a clean sweep of awards from the financial media in Asia - IFR Asia, The Asset and FinanceAsia all reached a similar conclusion naming UBS Best Equity House in Asia. 

"While other Equity Capital Market (ECM) houses went in search of a strategy, UBS confirmed its faith in its unabashed agency model. The bank saturated all markets, addressed a perennial weak spot in China and powered through 69 deals," noted IFR Asia.
