UBS dominates 2007 Financial News Buyside Trading Poll

For the fourth year in a row, UBS dominated a leading portfolio trading survey of European fund managers.

The firm was named Best Bank for Portfolio Trading of Global Equities in the 2007 Financial News Buyside Trading Poll. UBS also ranked No.1 in Portfolio Trading in Emerging Markets, European Equities and Japanese Equities.

The survey was conducted on behalf of Financial News by Richard Davies Investor Relations, which polled fund management companies in Europe on their equity dealing activities and their views of sellside counterparts.

In total, 100 responses were received, representing institutions that manage EUR3.4tr (US$4.6tr) in equities globally.

UBS Pactual excels in Institutional Investor LatAm research poll

UBS Pactual dominated the Institutional Investor 2007 LatAm research poll, with its analysts' ranked in all 19 equity categories.  

UBS Pactual was first in seven categories (Brazil, North Andean countries, Cement & Construction, Financials, Aerospace & Transport, Telecoms, Pulp & Paper), second in three categories (LatAm Strategy, Chile and Utilities), third in four (Argentina, Energy, Media and Metals/Mining), and runner-up in the rest.

UBS takes home more honors in Risk awards

UBS has taken top honors in a number of key categories in Risk magazine's Institutional Investor End-User Rankings for 2007, achieving top five rankings in 21 out of the 24 currency categories.

The firm was ranked No.1 in currency forwards, exotic currency products and cross-currency swaps.

Billie Jean King speaks to clients and employees in celebration of Pride Month

Tennis legend Billie Jean King addressed more than 200 employees and UBS clients in New York this week to celebrate Pride Month.

The event, sponsored by the UBS Pride Network and All Bar None, one of the firm's employee networks, was the flagship event for Pride Month and included employees and members of senior management from across UBS.

UBS tops Thomson Extel Survey for seventh consecutive year

The Investment Bank has been voted Leading Pan-European Brokerage firm for Equity and Equity-Linked Research in the Thomson Extel Survey 2007 for the seventh year running.

The survey also ranks UBS Investment Bank No.1 Leading Pan-European Brokerage firm for Equity & Equity-Linked Trading & Execution and Sales for the sixth year running.

UBS named Best Equity House in the Middle East

UBS has been named Best Equity House in the Middle East in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2007. The ceremony was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

UBS's award, judged on an editorial basis, highlights the strength of the firm in a region which is currently seen as one of the leading growth markets and comes in the wake of the firm's Dubai Branch opening.

UBS named 'Base Metals House of the Year'

UBS was described as a "clear winner" in Energy Risk's 'Base Metals House of the Year' award recently. The magazine cited "a four-digit percentage growth in volume" and an increase in revenues of "280% year on year" as the reasons for UBS receiving the prestigious accolade.

Earlier this year, UBS was named Energy Risk's 'Energy Finance House of the Year' for the second year running. It was UBS's physical presence in the commodity sector, and its 'one firm' approach to business, which ensured the firm stood out from its peers.

UBS Delta named No.1 Electronic Platform in Euromoney awards

UBS Delta (formerly CreditDelta) has been named No.1 Electronic Platform in Euromoney's Fixed Income Research Poll 2007.

UBS Delta also retained its position at No.2 in the Index and Portfolio Analytics category.

The accolade is further proof of UBS Delta's commitment to providing solutions to clients' challenges.

StarMine names Ingrid Wei Asia's No.1 overall stock picker

Following a detailed survey of analyst performance in Asia, the Financial Times and StarMine, the leading provider of objective ratings of securities analysts, have named Ingrid Wei, UBS securities analyst in Shanghai, Asia's top-ranked stock picker for 2006.

Wei's top ranking in the latest study was gained as a result of her beating her China transport industry benchmark by 29.3%.
