UBS named AsiaRisk's Equity Derivatives House of the Year

Citing the depth of innovation, quality of service and advances in technology that have improved both speed of execution and pricing in UBS's equity derivatives business, AsiaRisk has named UBS its Equity Derivatives House of the Year.

In what was described as a fiercely contested category, AsiaRisk stated that UBS impressed with its reputation for quality of service and its ability to structure products to suit a wide range of risk appetites.

In addition, UBS was named Derivatives House of Year, Australia. The publication said that as a result of the firm's seamless integration between its Australia business and global divisions, clients truly benefited from a greater range of structures, trades and products.

UBS receives major award for community involvement in London

UBS has received its fifth Dragon Award from the Lord Mayor of London in recognition of the firm's corporate community involvement in Greater London.

The firm was jointly recognized in the Economic Regeneration category for Project Shoreditch, a collaborative effort with Deutsche Bank and Linklaters, working through the East London Business Alliance.

Dragon Awards are presented annually to celebrate the contribution made by London companies towards the social and economic regeneration of their local communities.

The Investment Bank remains No.1 trader on London Stock Exchange

UBS remains the No.1 trader on the London Stock Exchange - a position it has held for the past three years, based on market share figures by value.

This complements UBS's position as the No.1 global equities trader

UBS now has more than 80 exchange memberships and access to over 100. The firm has the largest share of institutional client business in the world.

UBS’s long term position as the No.1 liquidity pool in Equities is testament to the excellence and the consistency of the execution and advisory services provided.

UBS leads the charge in business podcast downloads

UBS's innovative Global Economics podcasts have been rated among the top three business podcast downloads on worldwide audio download site, iTunes.

The accolade highlights UBS's strength in embracing new technology to deliver key messages to clients and the general community.

The podcasts - downloads of commentary that can be played on portable mp3 players, such as iPods - feature interviews between UBS analysts, discussing the firm's economic research.

Since releasing the firm's first podcast in May, UBS has recorded 8126 ‘unique' downloads on the iTune site. The first download attracted 1,025 unique downloads, compared with the most recent in September attracting a massive 2,628 - an increase of more than 160%.

UBS takes major honors at 2006 Euromoney Real Estate Awards

The Investment Bank has excelled in the 2006 Euromoney Real Estate Awards, announced in the magazine's September edition.

UBS took top place in the global category for ‘Best Bank for Debt Capital Market transactions', and was also awarded ‘Best Bank in Asia', recording number one placings in the ‘Advisory Research' and ‘Investment Banking' categories.

The awards come at a time when UBS has substantially invested in the real estate platform across the group, including the formation of the Real Estate Finance team within Fixed Income which now has over 50 professionals globally.

No.5 ranking in Institutional Investor All America Research Team Survey

UBS has again ranked No.5 in the 2006 Institutional Investor All-America Research Team Survey. On a weighted basis the team also ranked No.5, with four first-team position, 10 second-team positions, three third-team positions and 12 runners-up.

"I am pleased with this public recognition for our efforts to service our clients with good investment ideas," said Mark Altman, Head of US Equity Research.

The 49th most powerful player in art

UBS has made its entry in the ranking of the most powerful 100 players in the world of contemporary art published by London-based Art Review.

For the first time UBS appears in a contemporary art ranking. The firm ranks 49th in the ArtReview's list of the most powerful players in the contemporary art world (the "Power 100" list). The list was compiled by the London-based magazine with a small panel of writers and critics spread across the globe.

Top standing in Asiamoney Brokers Poll 2006

UBS has retained its title in this year's Asiamoney Brokers Poll as the top ranked house for overall combined equity research and sales in Asia.

This is the second consecutive year that UBS has won the poll and the fifth time that UBS has secured the number one position in the last six years of the survey. And in the poll's inaugural rankings for combined overall research and sales for Australia and Japan, UBS claimed top position in Australia and was the highest ranked foreign brokerage in Japan.
