UBS named as one of the most prestigious financial companies in the world

UBS Investment Bank has been ranked as one of the most prestigious financial companies in the world in a survey by US career information publisher, Vault.com.

In its 2008 edition of the Vault Guide to the Top 50 Banking Employers, nearly 1,000 banking professionals were asked to rank the top 50 banking companies according to prestige. UBS was named No.10, up one spot from last year.

The Vault Guide to the Top 50 Banking Employers is available free to students and jobseekers in print and online at more than 900 universities through their campus career centers and stores.

UBS named in the top 10 of 'Working Mother' magazine's 100 Best Companies

UBS has been selected as one of the top 10 companies for working mothers in the US, according to Working Mother magazine, in its annual list of 100 Best Companies.

This is the fifth consecutive year that UBS has been named among the 100 Best Companies, and the first year in the top 10.

UBS again tops premier Australian Stockbroker survey

UBS Australia has once again topped the influential Business Review Weekly (BRW) / East Coles Top Stockbrokers Survey, coming first overall in a field of 41 for research, dealing, derivatives and equity capital markets activities.

Hotly contested each year by all US, European and domestic brokers operating in Australia, the sixth annual survey comprehensively analysed all aspects of the equities business through the eyes of institutional clients, with comprehensive rankings published nationally in Australia's leading business magazine, BRW.

UBS Pactual No.1-ranked for Brazilian research

UBS Pactual is setting the pace when it comes to providing research on Brazil's capital markets, according to the results of Institutional Investor's 2007 All-Brazil Research Team survey.

In its first year as a merged entity, UBS Pactual was voted the top ranked Brazil research team by a wide margin, scoring 45 points, versus 28 points for the second-placed Credit Suisse (on a weighted basis). UBS Pactual equity and macro analysts were first placed in eight categories out of 10, and every publishing analyst was ranked at least once.

The achievement comes during another buoyant year for equity markets in Brazil. The Bovespa (Sao Paulo Stock Exchange) is up 47% in dollars so far in 2007, building on similar gains in 2006. UBS Pactual has already managed over 25 Brazilian IPOs this year, more than any of its competitors.

UBS maintains strong position in Risk's 'Inter-dealer Rankings 2007'

UBS has delivered another strong performance in Risk magazine's 'Inter-dealer Rankings 2007'.

In the overall currency section, UBS maintained its top ranking in Exotic Currency Options and Currency Forwards, as well as its top two ranking in Vanilla Currency Options.

UBS also received first place rankings in several currency pairs: US Dollar/Euro, US Dollar/Swiss Franc and Euro/Yen. The firm received top three rankings in all six currencies, overall.

UBS's strongest performance was in the Currency Forwards category. As well as taking first place overall, UBS obtained a top two ranking in five out of six currencies. The firm retained a first place ranking in US Dollar/Euro, US Dollar/Yen and US Dollar/Swiss Franc and took first in Euro/Yen.

In the Vanilla Currency Options category, UBS also achieved first place in US Dollar/Swiss Franc and Euro/Yen.

UBS employee recognized for process excellence project in Asia

UBS has received external recognition for process excellence in Asia after Alfred Yip, Equity Operations Change in Hong Kong, was awarded the Hong Kong Six Sigma Award of Merit 2007 by the Hong Kong Society for Quality.

Yip's winning project improved OTC Equity trade timelines and delivered the equivalent of five head count in productivity improvement.

He received his award during the recent 12th Hong Kong Quality Management Convention and second Pan-Pearl River Delta Quality Forum, where he also made a presentation.
